So, please, no need to chew my butt and tell me about all the latest technology that could prevent such a thing, and that I should have known and done something about it sooner....I've got that part down pat!:(
I ended up planting roughly 30 acres of corn at over 50,000 population! This is an 89 day triple stacked hybrid. I fertilized for about 140 - 150 bu/acre, and shot for 33,500. I missed by a mile obviously.
What are my options? Should I feed it some more N in a couple weeks? Without that, am I going to get about the same yield, only increased my seed costs substantially?? I'm worried about pollination, among other things.
What would you all do? I don't need nearly that much silage (already have HiDF BMR silage planted too, enough for me). I would hate to sell it for silage standing, me thinks I'd take an awful bath on that deal...
