Seems to be a nonexistent hay crop this year. I've heard prices as high as $250/ton. Most guys seem to have pellets bought in our area. How much is custom trucking? That must put the price of hay delivered at record levels.
I've also heard that the cow/calf pairs that are coming thru the ring are cheaper than bred cows last fall. It is not shaping up to be a good year.
We have enjoyed a long stretch of good years (weather wise) it is time for a year to set us back.
