Love to have a large merger but they, as everybody knows are expensive. In our area we chop a lot of corn but not as much small grains/alfalfa/hay. We would merge around a 1000 acres. And we work with minimal labor, fellow farmers fill in etc. There are some custom mergers in the area but over 25 miles away are hard to get in. Now to my question: I see some H & S WMCH30 reasonably priced I see they are an older design etc. Has anybody seen them run or owned one. Are they something to stay away from or something that might be fine for a guy like me. Do they need to run on perfectly flat ground (we're in Southcentral, PA, with some hills) with the 15' pickup heads vs. newer tri head mergers that are 10'-11' typically. Thanks for any input
