Here in western pa a lot of folks cut rye with a haybine then bale it for straw. I can do that but I was wng if my diesel 4400 JD with a 213 head will handle tall rye and I would just combine it instead. This option has a couple advantages, one I will get the rye seed to replant and two it has more time in the field to to let thefileds dry and bleach out the straw before I cut it. What do you guys think?
