Sorry for the question that has been asked since sts came out. I am harvesting and my dad is looking at green crops with 4" of rain in the past few weeks. Me, only 35 miles away, 0.2" maybe. Amazing.... I don't have time to research all of this.
Dad is looking to upsize from his 9600. Can someone tell me what to look for in avoiding and needing in a 9770sts for wheat and barley. Rotor types, accelerators, ect.. Not sure on all the different options out there.
Next question. He wants the 936D header. I have one and it is a good header. What extra would he get with a 600 series header? What options, if any, are needed on the combine to make use of these extras?
He normally cuts 30-60 bushel wheat and 40-80 bushel barley.
Side note here. I find it a bit frustrating watching him shop for the past few years. Are all dads asking questions and not wanting to listen. I mentioned bringing over a 7240 case to try. He acts like he doesn't want to see it on his place. I brought a 9770sts over a few years ago for him to try. He would not even ride in it. Wouldn't even look behind it to see if was throwing over to his satisfaction as I was using it. At that time he was set on a 9650 or 9660 walker. "Can't bale behind a rotor"
Anyway, he has called and asks me some questions. I hate saying much. He will get what he wants anyway then complain it doesn't have xyz features. Maybe that is why it was $30,000 cheaper than the others..... This is why I am asking what is needed to avoid and what you really want on one. I just want him to be very happy with his purchase what ever he ends up with.
Thank you
