I was looking to buy some more storage for 28% but plastic is getting nuts! 10k for a 10,000 gal tank with no valves or sight glass:eek:
So I called a guy that got a milk tanker for cheap last year for spraying and it was obviously not fit for his operation and we struck up a deal on a 1991 Nova 6250 gal for 7500$, I did not shop around but vs. plastic it seemed like a sweet deal with new tires and brakes + a 2" honda banjo pump.
My dad found an aluminum and a steel tanker for cheap that same day but I think the 28% would turn them into rust dust real quick so this stainless one looked like the way to go.
So far I got a 3" pump on it, put some baffles in it, I bolted quard rail in it in an x pattern, hopefully it don't rust to bits and pieces, I coated them with some sort of under body coat that I got at my father in laws body shop
There is a sign of some stuff that may have pressurized that tank at one time? There must be some max pressure you can put to it if its even possible.
Since there is no reason to have it insulated would it look retarded to take it off or would I just have a mess, some panels are beat up and I would like to lighten it up a bit, I am 31500# empty, I have probably shaved off 500# of junk so far
Are these milk tanks pretty bullet proof or am I going to destroy it if it ends up overloaded bouncing down section lines?
Nothing important just got some curiosity about these things
Will be posting pics soon, Thanks!
Know anything about milk tankers??
