I recently purchased a Gleaner S67 which is my first serious entry into harvesting my own crops.
I would like some tips on how to efficiently clean it. I want it clean enough that it will not attract rodents by being a food supply (no kernals of grain) and clean enough that things will be easy to work on (not an excessive amount of dust).
I will not purchase major new tools for this job so something like a diesel powered construction type air compressor is currently not in the cards.
Tools I have are:
1. 5 HP air compressor (~15CFM @ 175 PSI) on an 80 gal tank
2. An assortment of blower nozzles for the air compressor
3. A shop vac
I will not be using water, just compressed air and the shop vac.
What's the most efficient way to do this? I am considering:
1. Running the machine empty for awhile (already been done by previous owner and by me)
2. Getting rid of big piles by hand or with a brush and dustpan
3. Vacuuming those same areas
4. Blowing the rotor area out thoroughly
5. Pulling the chaffer and sieve?
6. Brush/dust pan to clean as much as I can in chaffer/sieve area?
7. Blow some more?
8. Vacuum some more?
Just seems like this is one of those jobs where if you don't do it in the right order, cleaning one place will make another place dirty again. Also seems like it will be easy for me to miss places that will attract rodents. How do you do it?
Thanks.
