i got one of them red ball spray tip testers from shoup and so did a friend.
we used them on the planters to calibrate our liquid setups. he uses a system like an old sprayer with fixed rate. with water in the tank he turned the system on and simply wrote down the flow from the tips at 5psi increments.
i use a flow meter system on the planter and sprayer. put in manual mph and flip the system on, look at the chart to see the gpm out of each nozzle. if number is low or high simply adjust the calibration number in the monitor until you get the desired rate.
i did it on the planter and it came out pretty dang close. the buddys came out very close on his as well.
for 70 dollars this little thing saved me a bunch of time and some money by not over applying. got to love the little things in life!!
