Show me the money!!

What would you guys do in this situation ? A friend of mine has a dilemma , for lack of a better term , is in business with a sibling , have run it for quite awhile , one does the lions share of the work , the other does the bookkeeping end of it . In a round about way the one doing all the hands on work discovered that the one doing the book end of things was helping himself to the profit end of things ! Quite generously !! Both have equal shares in the company and signing authority ! The worker approached the bookkeeper ( WITH PROOF) about the missing funds . Obviously the bookkeeper denies it , and it has gone to the lawyers ! Long story short it will take a lot of time and $$$$ to prove it in court and when the smoke clears even if the worker wins it will be a hollow victory because the $$$$ is gone !! Where , he,s not sure !! Pretty much guaranteed not to get any of it back !! Anybody else experience anything along these lines and had a positive outcome ?? The worker is pretty disturbed by it all , has put a lot of time , energy and money to make this business work and now it could all be for not !! Pretty sad !!
