Outback auto steer help.

I have just moved our outback system from one tractor to another. I moved absolutely everything but steering valve. The mapping works, but when I engage it to follow a line it actually steers away from line! Is it that steering valve? This is a new tractor to us 2009 case 485. It is a s3 outback with sts. I did not install the steering wheel sensor? When I pulled it out of old tractor it had actually broke off and was not doing anything anyways. I think it's the valve or plumbing, thoughts?

jd 7210r v mx200 v puma 210

Hi,

So we are looking for a new boomspray tractor and there isn't much around secondhand so we are looking new. I just want peoples thoughts on the jd 7210r v mx200 v puma 210. I personally think the puma is to small in general size for what we want.

we would be going with powershift also and our boom is 80f 3800 litres but in the future I would like to go 100f 5000 litres. Budget means a 8245 is more than likely out of reach, otherwise I would have gone straight for that.

cheers

Price of sweet corn seed

I was told last year that I had purchased sweet corn indeed up being field corn.....looked great tasted horrible... So I found different dealer said he finally got seed in from Monsanto he told the price had gone way up ...no surprise Then he told me it was 85 per pound....totally new to corn said ok to,d him I would pickup tomorrow . After I got off phone I did math that is like 5100 per bushel.....no way I must of heard wrong called up again said no mistake on price that is what it is...salesman said he was supris d on how high it was also....I am guessing they are jacked on their price to me as long as you are buying buy bag I would assume $8 .50 would be a lot closer than $85...this was a dealer in billings mt

Hi I just bought New Holland 94C Straight cut Header basically honeybee SP30.
Better rate down point The combine is unable to lift the header it only goes down and the lateral tilt works.
the Header weight is 6283LBS.
Do you think this is the problem or is there a way to increase the hydraulic power? I only have two cylinders on the combine I know there was an I only have two cylinders on the combine I know there was an option three cylinders.
Do I need to add the third cylinder and if so does it just attach with longer pins?
Please help

39' and 44' landoll VT owners question

I'm considering the 39' or the 44' landoll VT plus. I've got a chipped STX 450 and A chipped STX 535 Quad. I would imagine either of these tractors will pull either of these machines in our sandy loam soils but I'd consider pulling an unverferth basket as well. Would the 450 be enough hp then for the 44' and since it measures 44' 9" will a 45' basket work or would I need 46 maybe 47'? Putting a basket behind a disc I always bought 3 feet wider than the disc, same rule for these machines?

2012 800 Seed Hawk hyd. drive motor

The other day we started up the feed rolls and 2 of 3 hydraulic drive assemblies cracked on the outer cover. RME tracked down a repair kit which includes new dowels, seals, gaskets, screws and the outer cover. All seemed well until reassembly and we broke the new cover because the bushings are at a shallower depth than the original. The shaft the center gear rides on pushed up on the center of the cover and snapped the housing.
Has anyone come across this before. I got the old "well, we've never had that happen before" story from seed hawk.
Thanks

Granular vs. foliar Cu on wheat?

I've got some rented ground going into CPS wheat that I will not be renting next year. I was contemplating going with foliar copper as the granular is over $14/lb actual and I have another friend seeding it and due to drill setup and pre blended fert using granular isn't an option.

Never done foliar copper before. One retailer is recommending going in at fungicide time. I realize it won't build the soil but I'm just thinking about this year.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

1910 calibration question

New to john Deere carts came from bourgault and I was trying to calibrate my cart for the first time today and it says to first set your transmissions to 50 and than I turn on my hydraulic crank and it cranks out around a 100 revolutions and I weighed it and it gave me a number to set my transmission at but it was a fair ways away from fifty it was 24 so I set it to 24 and went to recalibrate it Again cause on my bourgault cart usually the first time you calibrate it gets you close usually within 5 percent but than if you calibrate it again it gets you to within 1 percent but on the Deere when you go to calibrate with your new transmission setting it asks you again to put the transmission at 50 again before you calibrate? Isn't that defeating the purpose cause it's gonna give you the exact same result again than. Or do you just ignore that message and calibrate it with your new transmission setting?

Help 1910 tank pressures

I started seeding yesterday and I'm wondering if anyone has ever had the issue I'm having. the front take has phosphate in it and when the fan isn't on all the tank pressure gauges read in the green when i close the lids and turn the fans on all the tank pressures read in the green again but when i turn the meters on for some reason the front tank pressure gauge goes to left about an inch out of the green toward the lid open side. any ideas by chance? when parked with the fans on i have raised the lid a bit without the meters turning and there is definitely pressure in the tank. I have the 430 bu double shoot cart and iv blown out the tank gauge lines and the lines feeding pressure to the tanks and iv blown out that little passage way where the pressure lines connect onto the meter area. I'm still getting product coming out just not sure if its at the right rate or even? any ideas would be appreciated. maybe its jus not a big deal and i should just giver.

Flexicoil 3450

Hi. Looking for some help on our air cart. It's a variable rate 3450. Has been working really well last few years but has started acting up as of late. Was seeding peas the other day out of the rear tank and near the end of the day the meter roller started acting up. Monitor would say tank 3 is shorted or open and rate would go to zero. Id turn out and wait a bit then it'd work fine for a bit then the same problem would happen. It's pretty frusturating to say the least. Managed to finish the field and pulled roller out all bearings seemed fine as I thought maybe that could be the problem. It seems maybe it's an electrical problem but not to sure. We changed the shaft speed sensor this morning but haven't tried it out yet. I thought maybe it was the tank 3 switch on the tank but I switched tank 3 to run off tank 1 switch and it still acted up the other day. No great service support on these tanks it seems the service guys don't know much about them. Any one ever run into this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

rem 2100 grain vac problem

Hello, I have a rem 2100 grain vac and I am having a problem getting the top section of the auger to lock out. It pushes out about 1" short of locking with a tight seal. It also does not stay tucked in when putting it down, it flops out, but will go back with little effort by hand. I have pressure checked the cylinder the section is on and it has to sign of leaking seals. What next?

PS. the bottom cylinder works fine.

Broken reel shaft- 3152

Hi , I am running a new 3152 45ft case front. The centre shaft of the reel on the LHS when sitting in cab has now broken 3 times in 500 hours of use. It breaks right at the end of the reel where a flange has been welded onto it, suggesting to me it may of been to hot when welded...have any other users of this front experienced this problem? Other than that I can't fault the front at all, just hope a pip is not far away.

What size tires and setup do most guys use on their double 1500 or 2000 gallon NH3 trailers? I have P and H double 15 trailer with single tires on the back I think they are 16L something something size. Well I seem to need more tire as the back always wants to sink. help with 2594 power shift

Hi there,
So I have a 2594 with the 24spd. It was working fine, shifting smoth through all 6 power shifts. Recently I started it up and it only shifts from 2-3 and 4-5. So I only have 2 power shift ranges at the moment. Anyone have any ideas? I checked the shift solenoid wires/connections with no luck. It doesn't even try shifting into the other ranges, so I think it must be electrical.

Thanks.

Case ih air drill w 2300 cart into variable rate drive?

We have a ground driven case ih 4006 double disc air drill with a 2300 two compartment cart. It has the slide on the bottom of the tanks that you manually open and close to adjust your seeding rates. I have hear of the Rawson drive system but is their any way of making that slide itself electric/hyd operated? On our case monitor there is a switch to adjust + or - I was looking to see if there was an add on from case to utilize that but I couldn't find anything.
We have a loup population monitor in the cab so the ability to adjust that slide from the tractor would be really nice. Thanks!

Has any one else had to deal with them?
They called me up and offered to send me a set of drill bits to try out, for free. I received them. A small drill bits set ( very small 29 bits), never tried them. after a couple of months I received a BILL for $378.39. U.S dollars I'm guessing.

They have continued to send me bills, and now are calling and threatening legal action.
What interesting is they have never ask for their product back.

1910 pressurization issues

Hi, new timer to this site. Have a question on 1910, 430 bushel jd cart. Problem is pressure gauge for front 150 bushel tank is not going into the green (all is normal) mode, but stays in yellow. We have rebuilt this particular meter housing and did find blockages in ladder rungs (that pressurize tank) and in the air channels in the meter housing itself. All was well before we started seeding, and we are not finding any significant air leaks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is Jim Prentice getting dumber by the day?

This will only interest Alberta members but obviously anyone can post.
Our current Premier Jim Prentice called an election a year early thinking some political maneuvering recently done would allow another cake walk to extend 44 years of Progressive Conservative majority rule.

Not working out too well for Jim.
The leaders debate was Thursday night.
Since Jim sees the NDP as the main competition he focused on leader Rachel Notley.
Jim made the statement that the NDP would raise corporate tax to 20% to which Rachel corrected him that she would raise it BY 20% from 10% to 12%. To which Jim told her math is hard. Must be. Jim was the one that was wrong, if you are going to spout such a condescending remark at least be right.

So the next day Jim is telling voters they do not want an NDP government nor do they want to vote NDP.
Really?
You are telling me how to vote not asking me for my vote?
What an arrogant attitude, the kind of attitude that comes from being in power far to long.

Bye bye Jimmy.

Agco RG700

Has anyone had issues with the tank lid leaking? It appears the lid flange is not properly mounted or is poorly engineered. What a disappointment. It would be like sending a new combine out of the factory with a 360 bu grain tank that has a big hole at the 325 bu level. So you have to mess with it before you can get your true capacity.

And 2 major hydraulic lines just coming loose. Lots of oil sprayed all over the undercarriage. Maybe its part the anticorrosion program. Sound off

Light clutch prime mover choices

Looking to upgrade from the old Circus Truck (Leyland bx-9) to a prime mover tipper set up - local freight costs are killing me! Some reliability wouldn't hurt either. Only looking to cover 10-20,000km max per year on flat roads doing local hauling.

Got the cart before the horse, already purchased seed/super tipper so now need the prime mover. However truck choice is being dictated by my left knee not my wallet! Footy injuries and wear and tear (read "old age") mean I can't handle non assisted clutches, neither can my worker.

Seems to be an electric issue as its as if you turn the key off, the whole thing just shuts down, then starts as normal when you fire it back up. We are currently sowing and it is really annoying, and we are concerned that it is going to do it while we are driving down the road! We have checked all earths, and the auto electro toon has been all over and can't solve it, any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks

We are going to be seeding some flax this year and was wondering how early a person can seed it. Can it withstand some frost after it emerges or does the frost kill it dead? Does anyone know how soybeans handle frost as well? Thanks SouthernSK

John Deere 2630 GPS will not work!!

Has anyone else had this problem with a 2630 monitor. When I start tractor and go to use GPS only 1/4 of the pie chart is colored in. The list says everything is good but it wont let me enable the gps. In order to get it to work I have to do a cold reboot (shut off tractor, unplug monitor, start tractor, plug in monitor). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Bolts for plow

I have the problem of breaking the bolts of that hold the disk blade onto our Allis 4 bottom plow which is 3 point mounted. We have replaced them with new bolts every time. What type of bolt would you recommend as far as strength goes? This problem happens about twice each season and is a big pain but not expensive or hard to fix. Even had the neighbor use it on his tractor and same thing happened. Any suggestions would be great.

First SP Swather Help

Hey all, I'm new, interested in some opinions...
I am looking for a SP swather, model year 09 or newer, 700-1500 hrs, and something I can switch off between a 25-30' draper and a disc head. A few I'm looking at include, 2009 Case WD1903, 2010 NH8060/8080 and a 2010 Macdon M200.

I really would like a rig that I can get going with the disc head and then not have problems finding a reasonably priced draper closer to wheat harvest.

Be great to hear from everyone but specifically those who run both disc and drapers in same season.

Thanks

Case 24sp Transmision Issue 9350

I recently bought a 97 9350 case, 24 speed, 6000 hours. Farmer owned but worked hard. I know nothing on the history of it. Ive got two issues, the second I actually need to fix.

Problem 1 - Shifting into 1 or R is hard. Ive read these transmissions are hard to shift, ive also read maybe change the cables/adjust them. Doesn't matter if tractor is running/moving, or anything its just harder to move the shifter into those gears. Any other advice on this?

Problem 2 - When tractor is started (doesn't matter over night or off
for 5 minutes) I can put both shift levers into gear and it will not move. Seams like the clutch is fully engaged? If I slowly push the shifter into gear the gears in the tranny are slowly turning, i can feel them grind slightly and the shifter will roll into gear. The tractor will still not move (will rock very slightly when clutch rapidly pushed in and out) . After about 15-30 mins the transmission will start working fine, clutch works, all gears work. Operates fine until I shut it off. Any ideas?

To me it seams there is a pump or pressure system that is not getting pressurized, or primed, once it has prime it works fine. Until it is shut off and then whatever system (my guess is clutch) looses prime then needs to wait to build back pressure/prime.

Also reverse/first being on the top of the transmission near the clutch could the two problems be related? Lubrication/trans pressure related?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Need help with John Deere 1900 air cart

Hello, I bought a used 53' 1820 with a 1900 cart that has has the 1910 meter boxes on it. It has 3 tanks and I did the rate check on the rear and third tank with some fertilizer. I set the rear tank to 120 lbs and the 3rd to 50 lbs product rate with the fan set at 4700 rpm. I did a few short passes to check if it works and it plugged 4 of the 5 top fertilizer runs. After I spent 2 hours clearing them I noticed that the top runs have half the airflow of the bottom / seed runs. No matter where I set the air dampener the bottom runs have way more air pressure and the top run just seems too wimpy.

Any ideas ?

I read in the manual that on a tow behind the damper crank should be on the bottom, but this on is on the top, could someone have put it in upside down ?

Should there be any difference in airflow between the top and bottom runs?

I'm new to john Deere and I'm already got not liking this thing. Any help appreciated

Deere 777 (FC 1110) rate problems

So I was out sowing some grass seed for the father in law last night and was putting down 100kg/ha of map down the tube. I weighed a sample of the map and worked out the density which worked out to be 1.019kg/L or 64lb/cu. ft. The charts and math formula says that I should put the gearbox setting to 22 so I put it on 20 just to be safe. I put 1.43 tonne in and sowed 12.5ha so I should have had about 180kg left in the tank but it ran out. So it's going out about 15-20% heavy.

Drill is 7.2m (23.5ft) wide. Shaft speed sensor seems to be reading and hasn't been erratic. Bins seem to be sealing properly. It's a tow behind with the fert in the front bin (closest to bar/tractor).

Anyone got any ideas on what I should look at checking or looking to replace/swap out?

Cheers

Mark

Cab cam

Hi guys,

I want to run three cameras in my 2320 cart (non plastic walls, pitch black).

I have read countless threads on here about cab cam vs ag cam's. It appears that ag cam's are better from those that have used both.

However, I would like to hear from a farmer who has used cab cam's (the cheaper of the two) how the cameras performed in this dark setting. Would you spend the money on them again?

I would be going with a wired system.

Finally, anyone used an eBay setup and what were your thoughts? They look very similar to the others in the industry.

Thanks for your help and sorry for another camera post, I just couldn't find a straight up answer about cab cam's in dark tanks in my searches.

AgLeader Integra in my Sprayer

I just put the Agleader Integra monitor, Ontrac3 steering and their DirectCommand application control in my Sprayflex sprayer. It replaced a light bar and Raven 450. I really like the Integra Monitor. It's simple, easy to navigate, and was easy to setup. The Ontrac3 steering was an easy install and after a few setting adjustments seems to work pretty good. The application control and sectional control appears to work well but the rate needs to be tweaked a little to get it set properly. Any trouble that I've had a call to Agleader support and it gets sorted out quickly. They have good staff. We will see if my opinion changes as the spraying season continues. Don't get me wrong that everything went perfectly smooth but I've heard of worse issues with other systems.

Farm scale ethanol plant

So this might sounds abit of the planet but I'm looking a putting in a farm scale ethanol plant.
The only difference is we want an ethanol plant for the byproduct to use in our dairy not the ethanol.
The ethanol we can use on farm but the wet distillers grain will be our primary product.
My questions am I mad?
Any Aussies know where to start looking for permission or approval for a plant?
I'm guessing US farmers may already have plants of this size what do they cost and where can I find one.

I have found Allard Research & Development | Home that seem to build a small plant.

Macdon FD75 75 Hyd Motors Failing

Hi

Just trying to find out whether other users are experiencing continual failures with hydraulic motors on their headers.

We have just had an outside one fail, basically stopped driving, and our centre one is stalling under heavy conditions.

Is it possible to fit larger motors, as just wondering whether they don't have enough torque under heavy conditions.

Flexi Disc drill, any experience

I know a guy that tried to trade one in and they wouldn't take it, said he would make me a good deal, it has been changed to 10" spacing, I cant remember but I think it was in the 35-40 ft range. I know these things pull like a lead sled but seem to raise a good crop. I like that they move a fair bit of dirt. I know they are high maintenance but how bad are they, I have heard of people removing parts to save hair pulling out but I don't know enough.

I have been raising some pretty good corn lately and I am running into residue problems in places and I figure I can buy this for far less than a vertical till machine so I would only be using it in problematic areas.

Also before I make the mistake of buying it has anyone used them in corn and if so what kind of yields and populations and how did it work. I would like to do more corn on corn in the near future as a way to build soil but my seed master wont have nothing to do with it

thanks in advance

8960 Cab noise

Does anyone else out there with a John Deere 8960 24 speed, or other similar models notice a hydraulic chatter or hammer?

You can hear it at idle through the floor, it gets worse when you need to use the hydraulics but completely vanishes at full hydraulic flow.

Example: Air cart fan makes it hammer and chatter away steady all day but lifting the toolbar at the headland with fan on will silence the noise. When that noise goes away its really nice and quiet...till I'm done lifting then back to the chatter. I can make the noise get louder just sitting in the seat or steering.

The noise is driving me nuts, I just purchased it recently and I like the tractor otherwise. Are these tractors known for hydraulic noise? Putting that pump right under the cab doesn't help.

Also what should I look for and do as maintanence to get ready for the year besides grease and lubricate like manual recommends?

JD 1910 Air Cart

I am putting peas this year with a 1910 John Deer air cart and a 1830 hoe drill.

I am going to be using granular inoculant in the small middle tank and putting it with the seed row.

My question is do I change the agitator from low to high? In the book it says to keep it on low for most crops except barley and grass seed ect. But I am guessing for the innoculant it should be placed on high. Would it hurt to leave the agitators on high for fertilizer, wheat, canola ect? There would be less chance of bridging in the tank.

I also don't have a good seals on the bottom plates blow the meters where you take these plates off and hang the bags on. It appears it is just plastic to plastic seal. Seem hard to do much to seal it.

Plugged Liquid N bins

We run liquid N (28-0-0) and have four bins to store the stuff over the winter. A bit always salts out and we circulate it for a few days prior to seeding to get everything mixed back in.

Problem is that this year two of the four bins are completely plugged. Like blocked solid. We can open the valves full and only a tiny trickle of liquid comes out. Pumping water into it doesn't seem to make much of a dent.

Anyone else run into this before? Any ideas what might have happened? The winter wasn't more unusual than any other...

I put the two pieces in my tractor yesterday and it's like my iNtellaview doesn't even know gps was invented let alone installed. When I go to the toolbox there isn't even the menu for nav or gps. When I am at the main run screen the icon that show up in the upper left corner in the squares are blank. Nothing to show signal or anything. All my run screens that I had set up are different like they were returned to a default setting. My memory stick is still in the back of the monitor so I'm at a loss. It's the weekend and even thought it can wait till Monday to call someone it's bothering the **** out of me

Any suggestions?

AFSC crop insurance

Hey guys - haven't dealt with this issue myself in the past, was hoping you guys might be able to let me know what to expect.

Its looking like I will be renting some land this year that had last years wheat crop left out, wasn't swathed. The previous renter apparently hasn't heard from crop insurance whether or not they require him to combine it - he's hoping they don't make him combine. It had some elk get into it over the course of the winter.

Just wondering how much wildlife damage they typically need to see to write it off? How about yield loss before they don't require combining? When do they typically have an answer for the farmer? I've heard rumours that they are making guys combine pretty much anything this year, not sure if there is any truth to that or not. Pretty hard to guess what the yield would be if the crop were to be combined - wouldn't be surprised to see 10 bu / acre out there still, depending on how easily it picks up.

I'm trying to figure out what my plan will be for the land for the spring, but its entirely dependant on what happens with the last guys crop, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of answers coming my way as of yet.

Soybean rookie

I live in dryland country and have lost half of my wheat crop due to winterkill, we are considering two options for planting something in those fields.

We are looking at liberty link soybeans or grain sorghum. I personally hate sorghum and have zero experience with soybeans. The liberty link would be a good thing to throw out there to get away from glyphosates for a little bit.

My question is what row spacing and population is ideal for soybeans in my conditions with 14-20" annual moisture? I have a sunflower dribble drill set on 10" spacings and a 16 row White planter on 30" rows.

I would put them to peas but insurance wont allow it, well you can do it but Ill only get 30% coverage on my wheat if I put it to peas. If I put something like sorghum or soybeans out there I can collect 100% on the wheat and insure the beans/milo.

weird fungus or eggs, ive got no idea

random patches of this in areas of a paddock that was wheat last year.

I've asked my a local agro, tried google, but cant find anything to see what it is. Ive never seen it before, dad hasn't either. Thought it was some kind of fungus, but looks more like eggs, honestly dont know at all haha. Its been a very wet last 2 months, and warmer than normal.

We've seen similar before, but not like this.

hoping some one can help, very curious to what it actually is.

John Deere 1870 Questions

We are just getting our new 1870 built and set upto go. I have a few questiond.

1) We are NOT using the fertilizer opener because just single shooting in seed trench. Do I still need to use the fert knives to open the ground ahead of paired row openers? Or can i remove the fertilizer knifes?

2) what setting for seed tube depth? Ours came from factory at #7

We will be seeding into damp heavy clay. Any suggestions appreciated.

premature wearing of dutch openers

My experience with dutch is not very good . Their warranty is poor and openers wear out way too premature. Anybody else have openers that wear out on the sides behind the carbide. Did approx. 2500 acres with a 35 foot tillage and started having problems at 3500 acres set of points are done . Neighbors using Atom jets and bourgaults you can hardly see the wear with many more acres.

calibration morris 7240 cart

If I calibrate the seed rate it is always about 30% out (low) from what the chart tells me.

The chart is dead on, so I still go by that.

Even the dealer could not figure it out.

We are sure we have the right sprockets and stuff for the with and the row spacing.

We even drove instead of turning the crank.

More people ran into this?

I bought the cart new 2 years ago.

1999 Gleaner R72 Smartrac Lateral Tilt

I just got a new to us 1999 Gleaner R-72 that seems to have everything set up for the lateral tilt system except for the lateral tilt housing itself. So I have a couple of questions.

1. Anybody know where to find a Lateral tilt frame? And also, if you buy it new does it come with all the latches and parts on it or will I have to piece it together?

2. It will be hooking up to a 7000 series header for wheat harvest in Oklahoma. Will feeding not be as good with the added tilt frame or will it still feed good?

Thanks for your help.

Single acting and double acting hydraulics..?

So I am building a little farm project, i have access to a few old hydraulic rams, but they are all double acting, can I make a double acting cylinder single acting by just blocking off one port? Or does it air lock or anything?

Next question, i always see the single acting cylinder is smaller when paired up with a double acting, for example a header reel. The double acting cylinder is fatter then the single acting cylinder, is there a reason for this? Or is this just inherent to the cylinder design?

Thanks.

Topcon users

So we're trying out a Topcon system 350 with the X30 and RTK on one of our swathers this season, if it goes well we will be getting the rest of the machines outfitted. We have the HiPer Ag base station that I want to keep at the shop. My only concern is how far out will the base station reach? Will I need another base station? I am looking at a repeater for the times that we are in spots that are down in a hole, will the repeater increase the distance of the RTK signal? I want to get everything setup right before we do have a problem once we start cutting. Thanks.

jd 1895 opener repair

Anyone have experience changing coulter bearings/hub on the 1895 JD drills? The spindle and gauge wheal arm are seized but I can't get them pressed out. I heated the casting up good but all I could do was free the hub up so it would turn. Does the spindle thread into the gauge wheel shaft? Is that why it won't move? Parts diagram shows a snap ring but I think that just keeps bearing in the hub. Thanks

Hydraulics question - experts?

I have a Versatile 555 (open center hydraulics) that I am going to be using on a small older Morris 6130 air seeder.

I have done this successfully with my open center Steiger using a different flow control than I am using this time.

The Versatile tractor puts out 2300 psi at 23 GPM which is more than enough for the air seeder.

The airseeder requires 13 GPM at max speed at 2000 psi

I bought an adjustable flow control for the tractor to be able to dial in the fan speed on the air seeder cart.

The flow control is capable of 30 GPM - more than enough for what I'm doing. http://ift.tt/1b2BB6t

My question is this:

The tractor's relief valve is set to 2300 psi (or a touch higher), the air seeder cart requires 2000 psi, and the flow control's relief is factory set at 1500 psi.

What do I need to set the relief valve on the flow control to? Or should I take it back and get one without a relief valve since it will be protected by the tractor's relief?

I want to generate as little excess heat as possible.

John deere 7000 population question

I just bought a 7000 john deere planter 6/13. But it's two separate planters on a double frame. It's 6 rows on the front planter and 7 rows on the back. I can set the population on each planter because they both have their own transmission. My question is say I wanted 160,000 population for beans (I have kinze brush meters) would I set the front planter on 80,000 and then the back planter on 80,000 or would I set them both at 160,000? It seems like the seed spacing would be pretty far apart on 80,000 but I could be wrong. My last planter was a 4/7 7000 series but only had one transmission with chains from the front to drive the back row units. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Russell.

Kubota Tractors

Kubota Corporation of Japan was established in 1890 and has become an international brand leader with a focus on contributing to society by offering environmentally compatible equipment designed to improve quality of life. Kubota Corporation has subsidiaries and affiliates that manufacture and/or market products that are sold in more than 130 countries.

Kubota was the first agricultural machinery manufacturing company in Japan to receive the prestigious "Deming Award," for manufacturing excellence. In 1992, Kubota Corporation received the "Sankei Newspaper Award" as part of the first Global Environment Awards, recognizing the Company’s continuing contribution to protection of environment.

The Kubota tractor has its roots on the Japanese farm. Although Japanese farms are traditionally smaller than those in America, the need for high performance and powerful maneuverability is the same. Kubota Corporation introduced its first tractor to the United States in 1969. Filling a product void in the American marketplace, the Kubota 21 horsepower L200 was an overnight success. As a result, Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) was formed in 1972 and the company introduced its first 12 h.p. four-wheel drive tractor in 1974. Although four-wheel drive was common among larger American tractors, it was unheard of in the compact sector and became a benchmark for the industry.

Over the past four decades, KTC has continued to expand its product line, with four lines of tractors, the BX, B, L and M Series. Kubota has successfully introduced compact construction equipment, compact track loaders, turf equipment, lawn and garden equipment, utility vehicles and a variety of Performance-Matched implements and attachments. KTC is now a leading marketer and distributor of under 120-h.p. tractors in the United States, offering more than 80 tractor models.

Kubota equipment is sold and serviced in the United States through a nationwide network of more than 1,100 authorized Kubota dealers supported by the company’s corporate headquarters in Torrance, California and four division offices and warehouses located in Lodi, California; Fort Worth, Texas; Groveport, Ohio; and Suwanee, Georgia.

Protected seed agreement

I ordered some Monsanto seed corn the other day . Seed supplier had me get on line and sighn the agreement that you can't keep any seed or sell as seed. Or they will take your farm and first born... It was a third party company that did the paper work ... He did it also for Bayer westbred. Washington state Another one or two breeders What got me was when they asked me to verify who I was they asked me some ? To verify that it was indeed me filling out the ? One ? Was asked who a former employer was ... They had the last employer I worked for 15 yrs ago that is no longer in existence and they also asked about a old pickup I use to own and what color it was .... How in the heck did they have this and other info? And it wasn't like it took them a fe days to fig out these ? It was a few seconds. I have never shared any of that info with them or any other seed company...

STORM Seed treater---who has one?

Who has a storm seed treater? Do you like it? Have you used chemicals besides bayers? If so, how has that worked? Happy with coverage?

I have not seen one working in person, but to me it's still just spraying the chemical in the bottom of auger and mixing it in auger. That's what we have done for years and are never really happy with coverage. Maybe there is something with the Storm that makes it cover better?

Thanks in advance.

650/65R38 vs 620/70R38 on Case 4430

Looking at a Case 4430 sprayers, and there are two options for the floater tires. Standard is the 650/65R38 and the "optional" is the 620/70R38. Did some quick math, and obviously the 650 is wider, but the 620 will be about 3cm taller. Hard to say which would handle the mud better, but..... I would just guess the 650 as it is wider. Any one have any other opinions? It seems interesting that they option two tires that are so close in size.

jd 4450 transmission leaking again

I need some info about the bushing supports for the lower sensing shaft on a John Deere 4450 tractor. These bushing supports were replaced several years ago by the John Deere dealer, but now transmission oil again is leaking like a sieve. Is this a common problem with these tractors? We rarely use the three point hitch. Is this a repair I could handle, or must it return to the dealer? Thank you for your help!
