Just wondering if anyone has any experiences on how they improved profitability on your farm, especially if you cannot expand by getting more land.
I am pretty much stuck at the 2 sections I have. Stuff for sale is $3000 per acre and a lot of big guys have the rental market cornered. I grow Ok crops but have been leery to really throw the inputs at it. I have been content growing 25 bu flax, 35-40 bu canola, 45 bu wheat/peas and 25 bu lentils.
If I could add 5-10 bu on those numbers could make a big difference, or I could just lean on my equity and find some totally different venture to diversify my income. Got a lot of free time in the winter but please don't mention cows. I've done a little low scale stock trading here and there but its just coffee money right now.
