Okay, just throwing around a few ideas here, feel free too give suggestions. I am on the west coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa. Our soil type and climate is a lot like that of Western Australia, or at least it looks like to me. I am looking at renting some ground next year to do some cropping on.The ground I am looking at had wheat on it last year and nothing on it this year. If I can get the ground next year I want to plant some lupins on it and the next year barley or oats. Now for the big question - how to seed the lupins next year and what type of seeder?
The soil is light sand to a sandy clay type. If I can get the ground it will be from January next year so I cant do anything on it this year.
Do I get a tine type seeder or a disc type seeder?
Do I work the ground in Jan or Feb or plant directly into last years stubble?
I can get contract work for either type of seeder if I am done seeding
Need some advice from the Aussies, others free to help too
