Has anyone built something like this. I was listening to a bunch of truckies rag me about load times. I don't think they will be happy until I am sub ten minutes for 75t. Got me thinking about building a new auger. First I thought about powering a 12" auger with a Perkins diesel I have in an old loader then I thought about side mounting one on my 4440jd. It doesn't have TPL but it has the brackets for it to rigid mount an auger chassis and it has a frame on the front for a tank that I could use to hold the front end of the auger. It has plenty of power, two sets of hydraulics to control each end of the auger.
So the questions are; how big of an auger could I drive. Minimum and preferred length is 41ft because that is what my other two augers are. How do you get the power to the auger ? Two 90degree gearboxes off the pto? This might be the limitation for power as 100hp seems to be these gearboxes limit. What size auger could approach 7t/minute. This may be to ambitious but 5t and the chaser drops 20t in would bring my loads in at ten minutes.
Any photos? It needs to be self contained and mounted. Ie moves with the tractors power. Emptying end behind the tractor.
